In the fall of 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to Shangri-La, Yunan to produce a documentary about the struggle elder’s from rural areas face. Although the people and history are Tibetan, Chinese politics and culture haven taken over. Because of these political tensions, and from fear of endangering anyone associated with the documentary, the discussion of China, Tibetan faith or even mentioning the Dalai Lama was strictly prohibited. What is left is more of a visual showcase of the local landscapes I traveled and with some interviews with local Tibetans about their daily struggles.
